Self-introduction:
My name is Carolina Gómez Alcalá. I graduated from the University of Cordoba with a Major in English, Foreign Languages linguistics, and Humanities in 2015. I moved to Long Island, New York, US, and worked and studied with English First Cultural Car Au Pair until 2018. Later in the same year, I started working as an ESL teacher in an English Training Center in a city called Jining in the province of Shandong, China, and I continue working at the same training center thus far. I reckon my knowledge and skills would be a great asset to your institution with my great interest and experience in content and curriculum development. In the course of my last college years, I worked closely in the education field in various education establishments, mostly public schools. I have worked as a freelance English private tutor and an English-Spanish translator back in Colombia; this professional venture allowed me to develop my apprentice translation skills and put them into practice more profoundly. Rehearsing and practicing the different techniques I have been learning throughout my career expansion and growth have encouraged me to continue studying and developing broad skill sets. I am currently studying Chinese and Korean, as well as Graphic Design online at the California Institute of the Arts. Besides, I am also an abstract and impressionist artist with an acute interest in literature, philosophy, fine arts, and graphic and interior design.
