Self-introduction:

My name is Bader al-Din al-Lahham, I am a certified ESOL teacher. I have a B.A in English literature, and a CELTA certificate. I have been teaching for three years now, every day singular in its hurdles, laughs and how much learning it offers, not to students only, but also to the teacher.

I have worked in varied institutions, and I came to teach a variety of course books and curricula. I have worked with young learners and taught classes in an IGCSE school, not only but also I have catered courses for adults, and dealt with a wide range of materials. I have worked online, in addition, and received training for online teaching. Nevertheless, my teaching experience gave me more than knowledge of material and course books, it has also developed me personally. I am patient, kind, I understand the power of a smiley teacher, and the necessity of involving the learners in the learning process; through encouragement and engagement. I follow a student-centered methodology. I believe that my students ought to develop more than subject-matter-awareness, I believe they have to develop their higher meta-cognitive skills, and be able to analyze, synthesize and evaluate. I want to increase their self-esteem and develop a sense of control; where students are sure of their abilities and competence.

Finally, an English teacher is more than pedagogical techniques and methods. It is a comprehensive understanding of the language itself. I am more than confident in my language, for I have a native-like accent, a large lexicon to help me deal with a wide variety of subjects, and finally a deep understanding of the American and English cultures; due to my studies of the English literature. I have also studied in my college, and through three years of teaching done serious study in, the different aspects of a language, syntax, morphology, semantics, and phonology.

I am looking to work in an environment where I can grow and develop; both professionally and personally. But I want to teach, I believe that is what I have to do as an obligation to the world. That is my role. I hope that I can do that in a helpful, plentiful environment.
