I believe that all students have their own unique qualities that they can bring to their own education. It is therefore my responsibility as a teacher to help these students use their unique qualities to grow and succeed. I am aware that it is my responsibility as a teacher to provide a learning environment that is stimulating and a place where students can grow physically, mentally, emotionally and socially. It is my desire to create this type of environment where students can meet their full potential.

Years of experience in international teaching influenced the development of my teaching philosophy which is based on a strong belief that through education, an individual will receive the vital skills and tools that are necessary to build a life that is successful and prosperous. Within an educational setting, students should be continually encouraged to solve problems to develop critical thinking and decision making skills. These skills instill in them the necessary competence to become flexible problem solvers in preparation for their adult lives.

Student success is the primary focus of education. My teaching style embodies the role of facilitator for student success. I model enthusiastic approach to learning, endeavoring to create lessons that are differentiated and that cater to the varying needs and abilities of students. I believe that this method of teaching gives all students equal opportunity to learn and encourages them to become engaged in the learning process. I believe that my strong sense of nurturing support encourages my students to do their best. I have the ability to connect with my students which I do by getting to know them and their learning styles to ensure that each one of them is able to adapt to the school curricula.

Part of my effective and dedicated teaching time also includes motivating other colleagues to teach effectively. I have discharged this role by serving as a motivational speaker during professional development workshops and as a mentor to newly hired faculty members from my school. I have made several presentations about effective teaching strategies which I have shared with my colleagues over the years.

In conclusion, I believe that it is my goal as an educator to create an inspiring and motivating learning environment in which students feel safe and secure. To leave a legacy of being a sincere individual with a true passion for his craft that other teachers and students will remember. Ultimately, to provide high quality instruction that meets the needs of each student.
